A Monstrous Regiment of Women (Mary Russell, #2)

A Monstrous Regiment of Women (Mary Russell, #2) - Laurie R. King This is the second in Laurie King's series about Mary Russell and Sherlock Holmes - an unlikely but very satisfying team. The books are not so much about Holmes as they are about Russell, but both characters are well-written and faithful to the original series in terms of atmosphere, characters, and style. I enjoy this series greatly, and look forward to the next one.

In this second book, Mary is about to finish her degree at Oxford, and gets tangled up with suffragettes, religion, and the troubles of an school friend - and gets into serious trouble herself. At the same time, she is re-evaluating and nervously anticipating changes in her relationship with Holmes.

A great read!
